Runway extended to 2000 m
Two new taxiways
The main apron very enlarged compared to the current
Start of works for the construction of the new General Aviation terminal, scheduled for 2025
The works will continue, and in 2026 the "Costa d’Amalfi" should be finished with:
Runway extended to 2200 m
New main terminal
New GA terminal
ILS navigation system (assumed)
New airport buildings
New car parkings
To celebrate this "new" reality in the Italian airport scene, and anticipate the preview for fans, BarelliMsfsAddon has prepared the new addon dedicated to Salerno, divided into two separate mods: Salerno 2024 and Salerno 2026. These are two mods to install as usual in the MSFS Community folder, obviously NOT at the same time. When publishing the 2024 version, it is important to specify that:
Official Enav cards are not yet available, so the markings and signage are similar to the current ones, with the appropriate variants; as soon as official news will be ready, which may however delay, you will be provided with a free update. Regarding the 2026 version, it is specified that:
Regarding the new terminal only architectural renderings are available, as officially presented in 2023, and based on these was created the new terminal for the simulator.
Regarding the GA terminal there is no info, so the building was "invented", in the place where it will be built, inspired by existing GA terminals (Rome Ciampino and Olbia); also in this case, when and if news will be available, we will update.
It is assumed, reading between the lines of the official statements, that there will be the subsidy of an ILS on runway 05, the frequency of which was imagined as 108. 50 MHz.
The new parkings of the cars have always been deducted from the official renderings.

The Velocity is a family of home-built, high-performance, composite construction, single-engine aircraft. Notably, the Velocity has canard-style airfoils rather than a conventional main wing for lift, and counteracting tail surfaces for control and stability. The most advantageous feature of the canard design is its resistance to deep stalls and spins. On a canard aircraft, the forward wing is designed to stall prior to the main wing, thereby pitching the aircraft down and restoringlift to the main wing. Nearly 1,000 proud Velocity owners have assembled and fabricated parts to complete the aircraft of their dreams in a process that takes around 2,000 hours of work. The builder is rewarded with one of the highest performance piston singles on the market, and an aircraft that meets their exact specifications. The original Velocity was designed by Danny Maher, and debuted at the 1986 Sun-N-Fun Aerospace Expo in Lakeland, Florida, USA. The modern Velocity models are the result of several redesigns by the current owners, Scott and Duane Swing. Black Square's Velocity XL is modelled after a top-end Velocity build, with an upgraded 400HP Continental TSIO-550 fitted with dual turbochargers, giving the aircraft a critical altitude of 24,000 feet and ground speeds of over 400 MPH. With a range of over 1,600 miles and single-engine efficiency, the Velocity is a real contender when compared with small turboprop business aircraft that operate at 5-10 times the cost. Model
Accurately modelled Velocity TXL-RG, inside and out, created from hundreds of reference photos from Velocity aircraft builders

Every knob, switch and button is interactable and implemented, along with its respective electrical circuit
Lighted standby instruments for worst case scenario failures
Hideable side-sticks
Placarded reference speeds for easy reference while learning the aircraft
Developed using the latest MSFS standards, including intuitive and easy-to-use controls for rotary knobs, multi-position switches and levers
SystemsExperience the power of one of the world’s fastest, highest flying, piston-driven light aircraft. From the beginning, Black Square’s Velocity XL was designed to deliver the raw excitement of operating a home-built, four-seat aircraft in the flight levels, travelling at over half the speed of sound. Enjoy features such as:
Twin, turbo-normalised engine with exhaust vibration and tailpipes that glow accurately with turbine inlet temperature
Fully realised electrical system with every circuit breaker functioning
Challenging push-prop engine temperature management monitored via custom G3X engine instrumentation

Unusual fuel management system with combining header tank logic
Working ELT and Hobbs meter to track your flying hours
SoundsThe Velocity XL features a MSFS-native (Wwise) 3D sound package taking full advantage of the new capabilities. Based on the default MSFS Extra 330, the Velocity XL’s sound set includes added sounds and custom code to create a fully featured soundscape inside and out to give the feel of the real aircraft’s power and construction.
Rich audio for every switch, button, lever and electrical system
Detailed physics-based effects on engine and wind noise
Accurately positioned 3D sound sources (best enjoyed in VR!)
Crash and scraping effects for composite airframe
Authentic retractable gear sounds and whistle
Flight dynamicsThe Velocity XL features realistic and accurate flight dynamics, designed to work with MSFS’s new aerodynamics simulation. The aerodynamics take advantage of new canard aerodynamics options that have only recently become available in MSFS. Users can expect the docile stall and spin-resistant characteristics of real canard aircraft with this add-on. LiveriesThe Velocity XL comes with six paint schemes based on real-world aircraft:
N285VL (USA)
N467AK (USA)
N516K (USA)
N750C (USA)
N7075J (USA)
G-IRTI (UK)
All textures are 4096x4096 (4K) resolution with MSFS native PBR (Physically Based Rendering) properties across nine channels of surface detail information, resulting in a whopping 1,600 pixels (14. 4kB) per square inch on the interior model. A blank (plain white paint scheme) is included for users to easily create their own paint schemes. 'Experimental' placards on the cabin doors, required by real-world laws, can be easily removed in a separate texture if the user prefers that for aesthetics. ManualA comprehensive PDF manual with panel guide and checklists is included as well as an Operating Data Manual with performance data. In-game checklists are also included with control highlighting and custom camera locations.

The second volume of our popular Antarctica series covers the Australian Antarctic Casey on the opposite side of the continent, right on the mainland: A region of vast glaciers extending for thousands of miles into the continent.
We have included a large area of coastal landscape with its typical penguin colonies, icebergs and – of course – a very detailed base with its helipad and a lot to discover. Take off from here using a helicopter, try to stay low above the detailed rugged terrain, maneuver your way through icebergs and find one of the two icebreakers operating here.
If you’re more into fixed wing operations, no matter if low and slow or high and fast, you can choose between two skiways: The Casey Skiway on the glacier a few kilometers above the base for medium distance operations or the Wilkins Aerodrome about 70 kilometers to the south – well known for its A319-115LR passenger flights (yes, that’s an Airbus on ice!) or C-17 cargo flights between here and Australia.
Detailed Casey Station with all buildings, a lot of clutter and extremely detailed terrain
Wilkins Aerodrome Skiway 70 km south of the base (intercontinental and continental operations)
Casey Skiway (continental operations)
Lots of animations including animals, vehicles, boats and people, including probably the first animated penguins and chain vehicles in MSFS
Plenty of custom created sounds of animals and vehicles
Coverage beyond the base with aerial imagery at various resolutions along the coast
Hundreds of thousands of animated icebergs in a larger area around the base
Adelie penguin colonies with thosands and thousands of animals at their real-world locations (performance optimized through instancing)
An impressive custom fleet of typical animated and static vehicles and clutter
Carefully crafted landscape to merge with surrounding terrain
Including updated waterbodies
Special technique used to bypass ground resolution limitation imposed by MSFS, giving the skiway ground textures a much more detailed layout than most airport add-ons
Special technique used to add wind shear details to the vast white lands on the glacier
Extensive manual with detailed information on flying in Antarctica

The Island of Kauai, appropriately named as 'The Garden Island', is draped in lush green valleys, spiked with rugged cliffs, and adorned with waterfalls - the true definition of paradise. And if you are fortunate enough to be headed that way, chances are you'll pass through the island's primary airport, Lihue Airport.
Airport is located about 1. 5 miles east of the town of Lihue, along Kauai's southeast coast. Visitors consistently give the facility high marks for its ease of navigation, cleanliness, friendly staff, laid-back yet professional atmosphere, and partially open-air design.
LIH's origins date back to 1948 when land was purchased and a runway was constructed. By 1949, limited services were provided, and the terminal was still under construction. Soon thereafter, construction was completed and the terminal was dedicated in January 1950. As soon as it opened, the airport saw a huge spike in passenger traffic that exceeded prior estimates. Just one year later, plans were set in motion to enlarge the facility. By 1955 the airport covered 160 acres and included a restaurant, parking lot, ground transportation, improved runway, hangars, and lighting. Several additions and improvements were made over the next several years. By 1974, as the number of passengers continued to increase, it became evident that the facility was not equipped to meet the demands. In addition, airlines were starting to use larger aircraft, rendering the single runway inadequate. A new runway was dedicated in 1984; its completion also marked the beginning of a modernization plan for the facility, which was soon undertaken. The current terminal was dedicated in 1987. The upgrades also included a new parking lot, enlarged airport roadways, and modernized utility systems. Today, Lihue Airport occupies 879 acres and sees air carrier, general aviation, air taxi, and military operations. Approximately 8,100 passengers per day utilize the facility, most of whom arrive via American, Delta, United, Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, Southwest, and WestJet.
While you wait for your flight, be sure to peruse the various display cases and artwork located throughout the terminal. Some of these change periodically, but you can often find information regarding native plant and animal species, books written by various Kauai authors, artwork, and other displays of cultural value. As an added bonus, there is traditional Hawaiian entertainment provided at intervals throughout the day for your listening pleasure. It's the perfect way to either set the mood for your stay on Kauai or say goodbye to the beautiful Garden Island.
