The structure, open to commercial traffic, is equipped with an asphalt runway 3000 m long and 45 m wide, with RWY 09-27 orientation and is managed by the company Aeroporto Friuli Venezia Giulia S. p. A. under the trade name of Trieste Airport - Friuli Venezia Giulia. The first airport structure in the territory of Ronchi dei Legionari is the training ground of the 4th Fighter Wing in 1935. The 17th Fighter Group was stationed here from July 1943 until 8 September 1943. In the fifties, the area was chosen as the seat of the civil airport, which began operations on 2 December 1961: a Douglas DC-3 of the Mediterranean airline company took off for Rome, inaugurating commercial connections. In 1978 the track was extended to the current 3,000 meters. The control tower that still manages the traffic of the airport was inaugurated in 1982. In 1998 the expansion and modernization works of the airport were completed, allowing a capacity of 1. 5 million passengers per year. An airport is also built for the freight sector. On 9 June 2011, the regional council approved the development of an intermodal hub that would extend within an area of 475,000 m² between the airport and the current Venice-Trieste railway line, which runs 250 meters from the terminal. On March 19, 2018, the new intermodal hub was inaugurated which consists of a new railway station called "Trieste Airport-Ronchi dei Legionari" connected to the passenger terminal via an elevated walkway 425 meters long. A new bus and coach station equipped with 16 stalls, a multi-storey car park with 500 seats and a ground level car park with 1000 seats.

O'Hare International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world, and the region also has the largest number of U. S. highways and the greatest amount of railroad freight. In 2012, Chicago was listed as an alpha global city by the Globalization and World Cities Research Network, and it ranked seventh in the entire world in the 2017 Global Cities Index. The first known reference to the site of the current city of Chicago as "Checagou" was by Robert de LaSalle around 1679 in a memoir. The city of Chicago has been known by many nicknames, but it is most widely recognized as the "Windy City".

It is located near the village Szymany, some 10 km from the centre of the city of Szczytno in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. The airport was earlier known as Szczytno-Szymany Airport. EPSY Olsztyn-Mazury Airport is popular among general aviation pilots as a gateway to the Masurian Lake District. The region contains more than 2,000 lakes. The Lakeland extends roughly 290 km (180 mi) eastwards from the lower Vistula to the Poland–Russia border, and occupies an area of roughly 52,000 square kilometres (20,000 sq mi). The lakes are well connected by rivers and canals, forming an extensive system of waterways. The 18th-century Masurian Canal links this system to the Baltic Sea. The whole area is a prime tourist destination, frequented by boating enthusiasts, canoeists, anglers, hikers, bikers and nature-lovers. It is one of the most famous lake districts in Central Europe and a popular vacation spot, with the highest number of visitors every year. Śniardwy is the largest lake being 22. 1 km (13. 7 mi) long and 13. 4 km (8. 3 mi) wide. The airfield in Szymany originates from 1933. Back then it was located in Germany, just kilometers away from the Polish border. Being hidden, within the woods, the airfield should be used as temporary facility during the war. So it did 1939 during the invasion in Poland. In 1945, the small airfield was in the hands of the Soviet army. As they were not interested in the facility, they left it in autumn 1945. Now located in Poland, the Polish army acquired it. In the 1950s and 1960s it was expanded and assigned as backup airport. It was developed on a low stage for many years, in the second half of the 1970s it received a control tower and further buildings. In the 1990s, when the cold war had ended, the airfield in Szymany lost its importance and was finally left. The remains of the old runway are still visible on the East side of the airport. Later on, the Szymany Airport received international attention after it was discovered the airfield was used by the CIA in conjunction with a black site prison nearby in 2003. From 2014 to 2015, the airport was rebuilt with high EU subsidies. Its runway was extended and overhauled; a new terminal, railway link and further facilities were erected. On 20 January 2016, the first ever scheduled passenger flight took off from the airport with a SprintAir service to Berlin. Currently it is used by low-cost carries and general aviation pilots.

Sheremetyevo Alexander S. Pushkin International Airport (IATA: SVO, ICAO: UUEE) is one of four international airports that serve the city of Moscow and is the busiest airport in Russia. Originally built as a military airbase, Sheremetyevo was converted into a civilian airport in 1959, and in a 2019 contest, was named after Russian poet Alexander Pushkin. The airport comprises six terminals: four international terminals (one under construction), one domestic terminal, and one private aviation terminal. Sheremetyevo International Airport currently has five operating passenger terminals and one special terminal reserved for the use of private and business aviation. The airport's terminals are divided into two groups based on geographical location: the north and south terminal areas. The two-terminal areas are linked by regular internal and external bus services. Terminal A opened in 2012 to the east of Terminal B and is used for the servicing of business and private aviation. The new terminal B commenced its operations on 3 May 2018. The terminal is connected by an interterminal underground passage with Sheremetyevo's southern terminals and the Aeroexpress railway station. The former Terminal C was closed on 1 April 2017 to be demolished for the reconstruction of a newer terminal. Integrated with the now-reconstructed domestic Terminal B, the new Terminal C is designed to serve up to 20 million passengers.

Russia is the largest country in the world. It is a federal semi-presidential republic. From northwest to southeast, Russia shares land borders with Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland (both with Kaliningrad Oblast), Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, China, Mongolia, and North Korea. Most of Russia consists of vast stretches of plains that are predominantly steppe to the south and heavily forested to the north, with tundra along the northern coast. Russia has about 1300 airports. Moscow is the capital city and the most populous federal subject of Russia. The city is a major political, economic, cultural and scientific center in Russia and Eastern Europe. According to Forbes 2013, Moscow has the largest number of billionaire residents in the world, has been ranked as the second most expensive city in the world by Mercer and is one of the world's largest urban economies, being ranked as an alpha global city according to the Globalization and World Cities Research Network and is also one of the fastest-growing tourist destinations in the world according to the MasterCard Global Destination Cities Index. Originally established in 1147 as a minor town, Moscow grew to become a prosperous and powerful city that served as the capital of the Grand Duchy that bears its namesake. When the Grand Duchy of Moscow evolved into the Tsardom of Russia, Moscow still remained as the political and economic center for most of the Tsardom's history. When the Tsardom was reformed into the Russian Empire, the capital was moved from Moscow to Saint Petersburg, diminishing the influence of the city. The capital was then moved back to Moscow following the Russian Revolution and the city was brought back as the political centre of the Russian SFSR and the Soviet Union. When the Soviet Union dissolved, Moscow remained as the capital city of the contemporary and newly established Russian Federation.
