Welcome to Shepparton Aerodrome, right in the heart of the Goulburn Valley. The former Shire of Shepparton, City of Shepparton and the Shire of Rodney established the aerodrome site in the early 1950’s. In February 1956, Southern Airlines commenced the first air service from Essendon Airport to Shepparton using a De Havilland Dove aircraft. During this same year, the aerodrome was forced to close down for several months due to floods which resulted in the cancellation of the air service to Essendon. After the 1956 floods, the aerodrome committee undertook extensive works to upgrade the aerodrome to an all weather facility.
During 1967, the main runway 18/36 was sealed to a distance of about 760m which has now been extended to a total distance of 1,379 metres from the northern end stopping short of the east west runway. The remaining section of the main runway and the east west runway was grass. This is our home base, and we’ve tried our best to immerse you in this scenery release by including many aspects of the real world into our developments. Our team have also included the memorial for Peter “Pip” Borrman, who was an accomplished aerobatics pilot known throughout Australia. Sadly he passed away during an aerobatic training performance in 2009, we hope that you can feel the love in our work and enjoy this free addon for MSFS!

From the developer behind the sounds of the FlyByWire A32NX, FlightFX Vision Jet, and the Cirrus SR-22, comes the long-awaited Cessna 172 Sound Set for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Using hours of real interior and exterior recordings made with industry-grade equipment, the Boris Audio Works team brings a complex sound set for the legendary C172 Skyhawk.
This set is compatible with the default Cessna 172, both the steam gauge and G1000 version. It is also fully compatible with the WBSim 172 modification, all in one package. This is a comprehensive sound overhaul that includes features such as:
Features
Dynamic engine sounds
Wind and aerodynamic drag
Buttons, switches, knobs, and levers
Fuel pump
Batteries, gyros, and avionics fans*
Dynamic touchdowns and ground rolls*
Stall horn with several stages changing intensity depending AOA
And more!
*This is different in the steam gauge vs G1000 versions. The batteries and gyros make sounds in the steam gauge, while the G1000 is silent, just like the real aircraft. The ground roll of the steam gauge Skyhawk has a different wheel bearing, making the wheel spinning noise sound slightly different.

The real world DoubleEnder was a home built in a joint effort by Alec D. Wild, Eric Lewis (LewAero Works), Engineered by Douglas Keller, and later iterated/modified by Peter Anderson. This unique aircraft started development in the mid 2000s as a Piper PA-18 and then made its public reveal in various Super Cub Forums. The aircraft gets its name from its unique “pusher-puller” set of in-line Rotax 9 series engines. It can often be seen equipped with a custom built belly pod that doubles as an auxiliary fuel tank. A notable feature of the aircraft’s design included a large bubble canopy, offering the pilot a stunning view from the cockpit. Other design elements included a fully actuating horizontal stabilizer for trim, 35” bush tires equipped for off-airport operations, and automatic leading edge slats on the primary wing surface in addition to large spoilerons that greatly assist roll rate during flight. The DoubleEnder also featured a fully free-castering tailwheel that allowed for precise ground maneuvering in very tight spaces; perfect for sandbars in the backcountry. Our digital recreation of such an iconic aircraft seemed fitting for our team as our current portfolio consists heavily of some of the more eccentric airframe designs. Our past projects take a heavy emphasis on STOL/Bush aircraft and our goal with the DoubleEnder was to produce the most accurate digital recreation of this bird with all the current information publicly available. This project is considered a “flagship” release with heavy emphasis on systems depth, dynamic and reactive wear/tear that shows visually on the model in addition to affecting aircraft systems and handling. Packed into this package is a lot of the existing technology developed during the Wilga in addition to all new technology never seen before in any Got Friends product.

With over 10,000 built between 1941-1944 (and nearly 4000 of these as the P-38L), the P-38 Lightning is an iconic American Warbird, easily distinguished by its unique twin-boom and central nacelle design. The ‘’Fork-tailed devil” inspired terror across Europe & the Pacific as not only a fighter, but a highly effective fighter-bomber, night fighter and long-range escort.
The Lightning is capable of speeds up to 414 mph and an excellent rate of climb, powered by its powerful twin Allison V-1710 Engines. The Allison engines drive a 3-bladed Curtiss Electric Constant-speed propeller, counter-rotating to eliminate yaw tendencies, generating up to 1600 HP in each engine at a 2:1 gear reduction ratio. Dogfight performance is improved drastically with the addition of innovative technology for its time, such as the hydraulically powered Aileron Boosters, Manoeuvre flaps and Dive Flaps.
Our simulation aims to bring to life each facet of the incredible P-38; from the unique flight dynamics excellently captured by GotGravel (our newest FlyingIron Team Member), the muffled roar of the twin engines; from the finesse of managing the complex engine & cooling systems down to the minute details of the electrical system.
